Ridge and Valley Conservancy (RVC) is a private, non-profit land trust based in Newton, New Jersey, that, in cooperation with strategic partners, permanently protects and stewards land in the Ridge and Valley Region of New Jersey. Since 1992, RVC has partnered with various organizations to preserve over 5,000 acres in Warren and Sussex counties. Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Type: 20 hours per week, 4 days a week - in office
Salary: Hourly, based on experience

Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s daily operations and mission. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with excellent communication skills who can handle a variety of administrative, operational, and marketing tasks. Key responsibilities include managing donor records, overseeing office volunteers, executing social media strategies, and supporting event planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update donor records, ensuring accurate data entry and filing.
Coordinate mailings, correspondence, and communications with donors and stakeholders.
Manage social media platforms, implementing marketing strategies to engage the community.
Provide general administrative support, including bookkeeping assistance and scheduling.
Assist in event planning and logistics, supporting successful execution.
Oversee office volunteers, providing guidance and ensuring smooth operations.
Core Competencies:
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Basic skills in bookkeeping. Experience in QuickBooks Online is a plus.
Clear and effective communication, both written and oral, with a focus on customer service.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
Basic social media management skills and an interest in expanding online engagement.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently manage tasks.
Willingness to take on various tasks as needed to support the office.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in office administration or related field; or equivalent experience.
Candidate must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle for travel.
Preferred:
Experience with basic graphic design tools (Canva) is a plus.
Experience with donor management or CRM software is a plus.
