UNIQUE FEATURES

This preserve is named after the many forest seeps found throughout the landscape. A forest seep occurs where groundwater breaks through a low area and discharges into a hardwood forest. This forest seep habitat supports a diverse array of flora and fauna with several species of amphibians including Spotted and Jefferson salamanders. Many types of ferns and mosses thrive in the area and the property supports a robust oak-hickory forest that is home to many bird and mammal species. Millbrook Seeps Preserve is a target property in the Blair Creek to White Lake Corridor and is an important parcel in the climate and wildlife corridor along the Kittatinny Ridge known as Bobcat Alley.
